THE PANAMA CANAL

The Panama Canal (Spanish: Canal de Panamá) is a 77.1-kilometre (48 mi) ship canal in Panama that connects the Atlantic Ocean (via the Caribbean Sea) to the Pacific Ocean. The canal cuts across the Isthmus of Panama and is a key conduit for international maritime trade. There are locks at each end to lift ships up to Gatun Lake, an artificial lake created to reduce the amount of excavation work required for the canal, 26 metres (85 ft) above sea level. The current locks are 33.5 metres (110 ft) wide. A third, wider lane of locks is currently under construction and is due to open in 2016.

France began work on the canal in 1881, but had to stop because of engineering problems and high mortality due to disease. The United States took over the project in 1904, and took a decade to complete the canal, which was officially opened on August 15, 1914. One of the largest and most difficult engineering projects ever undertaken, the Panama Canal shortcut greatly reduced the time for ships to travel between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, enabling them to avoid the lengthy, hazardous Cape Horn route around the southernmost tip of South America via the Drake Passage or Strait of Magellan. The shorter, faster, and safer route to the U.S. West Coast and to nations in and around the Pacific Ocean allowed those places to become more integrated with the world economy. It takes 20 to 30 hours to go through the Panama Canal.

During construction, ownership of the territory that the Panama Canal now passes through was first Colombian, then French, and then American. The US continued to control the canal and surrounding Panama Canal Zone until the 1977 Torrijos–Carter Treaties provided for handover to Panama. After a period of joint American–Panamanian control, the canal was taken over by the Panamanian government in 1999, and is now managed and operated by the Panama Canal Authority, a Panamanian government agency.

Annual traffic has risen from about 1,000 ships in 1914, when the canal opened, to 14,702 vessels in 2008, the latter measuring a total of 309.6 million Panama Canal/Universal Measurement System (PC/UMS) tons. By 2008, more than 815,000 vessels had passed through the canal; the largest ships that can transit the canal today are called Panamax. The American Society of Civil Engineers has named the Panama Canal one of the seven wonders of the modern world.

Thats enough of Panama for a day,see you guys soon for more informative articles.hope you guys enjoyed it.see you soon=)

Why I Choose iPhone over Android

1: One iOS

I think the greatest focal point of the iPhone is that there is one and only creator of the iPhone. For those of you who possess iPhones, this sounds like an easy decision. Definitely Apple is the main producer of the iPhone. Anyway in the realm of Android, there are numerous adaptations of Android and pretty much the same number of sorts of Android smartphones from creators, for example HTC, Motorola and Samsung.

Having only one maker of the iPhone is leverage on the grounds that the center usefulness of every form of the iPhone is the same as the following. You do not need to stress over distinctive producers, or contrasting diverse models from contending makers.

2: Secured Operating System

When in doubt, Apple gadgets have a substantially more secured improvement environment. This implies that application designers are more restricted in what their applications can do. Furthermore, clients are restricted to how they can utilize their smartphones. This is extraordinary from the viewpoint that the working framework is really all around shielded from viruses and malware.

This keeps iPhones and the general Apple environment really clear of most viruses that hit other working frameworks all the more regularly.

3: Over 1,000,000 Applications

The Apple application store has a bigger number of applications accessible for download than whatever other merchant. In any case, for the greater part of us, the offering purpose of Apple's application store is not in the quantity of applications, anyway rather the way of the applications accessible. All in all, application designers will generally attempt and create items for iOS instead of for Android. This implies numerous mainstream applications may turn out first for iOS before they are accessible for Android gadgets.

Over the long haul, this is less and less of an issue, yet even right up until the present time some of my most loved applications are as yet missing from the Android play store.

 4: The Apple Ecosystem

Apple gadgets work exceedingly well together, particularly in the event that you have an Apple TV, Macbook and an AirPort Express.

One of the fundamental explanations behind getting an iPhone would be on the off chance that you claimed other Apple gadgets. Mac devices work exceedingly well together, particularly on the off chance that you have an Apple TV,  Macbook and an AirPort Express. These devices are all fabricated together to work with one another, so it is easy to send feature from your iPhone to your Apple TV or music to your AirPort Express.

The drawback is that this can get really lavish. Be that as it may once more, on the off chance that you as of now have one or more iDevice, an iPhone would function admirably together with them.

5: Apple Stores

Last, but not least, purpose behind getting an iPhone is the system of Apple stores all through the world. This is one of the best highlights of Apple gadgets. You can discover Apple stores in most real shopping centers and urban areas, and it is the ideal spot to run with inquiries and bring your broken gadget to get it settled.

You cannot get this kind of convenience with most different gadgets. Apple constructs and keeps up every one of its items, so when something is not right, the producers are the ones who fix it. If you somehow managed to get an Android smartphone and had more inquiries or needed to get it adjusted, there are very less spots to take it to. Apple stores, then again, offer day by day arrangements to examine and fix your gadget.

With that, we should whole up the main 5 motivations to pick iOS over Android:

1. There is one and only maker of the iPhone, so you will not need to examination shop brands.

2. Apple is bolted down working framework implies that its gadgets are super secure from viruses and malware.

3. iOS applications are by and large the first available and there is an immense determination.

4. Apple gadgets work awesome with other Apple items.

5. Apple stores offer a helpful area to get your failing gadget took a gander at or to have inquiries replied.

Video Of Girl Group’s Brawl With Cab Driver

A video of an altercation happening between a group of girls with a taxi driver has become the most talked-about topic of social media today.
The mini blitz was said to be caused by a minor accident which had the girls’ Myvi to be side rammed by the cab at a Petron petrol station in Seksyen 7, Shah Alam.

In the viral 1:02-minute clip, the girls can be seen throwing profanities and acting out of control to a cab driver. One girl was even recorded trying to hit the man in her raging fit.

However, another video recording have surfaced not long after the first one gained notoriety, that could prove the girls are innocent all along.

The girl claimed that the cabbie had hit their car first before the fuss soon turned bigger and uncontrollable, which led to the public to get involved.
The taxi driver then smacked one of her girlfriends and the brawl soon took a turn for the worse.

In the second video, the much-older man said he did that because he was outraged by one of the girls’ rudeness towards him.
The girls and the cab driver were soon brought to the police station to settle their fracas but soon turned ugly again when one of the girls’ father came in and punched him, leaving him with a bleeding nose.

From Convent to ALAM

I am a Convent girl. A PURE CONVENT GIRL. Ever since I was seven, I attended Sekolah Kebangsaan Convent Kajang. Growing up in an all girls school, I never had to think twice to express myself, physically mentally and emotionally. So, how was Convent like you’d wonder?  I basically knew almost everyone in school, seniors, juniors, their siblings and family members. You can say it’s somehow like a whole big family. Some of them had generations in school since female siblings and mothers all studied there. Sometimes absent mindedly I still get confused with primary school’s song with the secondary one. We had to shift chairs from classes during Moral or Agama class. Convent never seemed to have enough chairs or tables. The second floor toilet was rumoured to be haunted but I never thought twice to use it alone. We would clap for kelas terkotor louder than kelas terbersih. The complains about canteen food was endless and you can hear about cockroaches or lizards in them when you’re “lucky”. Classes’ names were based on ‘permata’ for e.g. Intan, Berlian, Rubi, Mutiara, Nilam, and Zamrud.
